หลังจากที่เด็กๆได้สนุกกับการเรียนรู้ความสัมพันธ์ของเสียงกับพยัณชนะแล้วในชั้น อนุบาล 1 เด็กๆก็จะมาต่อยอดการเรียนรู้โดยการผสมเสียงพยัณชนะกับสระเดี่ยว ในชั้นอนุบาล 2 และเริ่มหัดอ่านเป็นคำนอกจากนี้เด็กๆจะฝึกฟังเสียงสัมผัส คำคล้องจอง อ่านคำกลอน หาคำที่หนูรู้จัก กิจกรรมเหล่านี้จะเสริมสร้างให้เด็ก มีความมั่นใจ และอยากที่จะอ่านเด็กๆสนุกกับการอ่านคำคล้องจอง และวาดภาพประกอบเด็กๆอนุบาล 2 จะรู้จักค่าของตัวเลข 1-20 จากการนับของจริงที่อยู่รอบตัว และเรียนรู้การบวกและ ลบเลขจากสิ่งของและรูปภาพต่างๆ เด็กๆจะฝึกนับเลข จากการร้อยลูกปัดและนับเพิ่มที่ละสิบจากเม็ดถั่วในกระปุกจนถึง 100 เปรียบเทียบจำนวนตัวเลขโดยใช้สัญลักษณ์ < > = และ = นอกจากนี้เด็กๆจะ จำแนก (sorting) จัดหมวดหมู่ (classifying) และถอดรูปกระบวนแบบ (searching forpatterns) เมื่อจบอนุบาลสองเด็กๆจะสามารถตีความจากรูปธรรมเป็นสัญลักษณ์ได้ ในระดับหนึ่ง ซึ่งจะพัฒนามากขึ้นในชั้นอนุบาล 3

English K2

Na Daroon School K2 English program focuses on children being actively engaged in acquiring and constructing their own understanding of how oral and written language works. The learning experiences provide children with many opportunities to listen and speak, read and write. They participate in activities such as songs, games and various projects that are based on the “letter of the week”. At this level, children are more confident and familiar with the relationship between the symbols and sounds of the language. They continue to expand their vocabulary words through singing songs, listening to stories, working on different tasks, and role-playing.

M Week

Children made “mirror” out of cardboard and tinfoil. They recite the poem “I have two eyes so I can see. I look in the mirror and I see me.” This poem is easy for children to say which help increase their confidence in reading.

Class Structure

Our K2 class begins with a variety of greetings as well giving the children an opportunity to discuss how they are doing, of any trips or outings they have been on or any upcoming plans. The children slowly start forming small sentences as the year progresses. As the children become more comfortable with their vocabulary they start adding adjectives, adding days of the weeks all helping to build the length of the sentences and ultimately building conversation skills. Proper sentence structure or participation from all students is expected as this is an exercise in building confidence and creativity. Weekly art projects, story time, class projects, songs and work sheets are often times related to the “letter of the week” or one of the broader subjects we ar learning. The children are given the opportunity to practice printing the letters but mastering the alphabet is not a requirement for K2.

Main topics explored in K2: Insects, farm animals, body parts, weather, transportation, family, feelings and emotions, shapes, colors, actions, fruit and vegetables, dishes, occupations.
